MISSION

501(c)(3)

To guide, encourage, and focus youth who have aged-out of the Foster Care System to become independent contributing members of society and to decrease risk factors they may face along the way like homelessness, unemployment, substance abuse and human trafficking. We do this with caring guidance and assistance accessing entitlements and support from Federal, State, County, and local organizations that govern the benefits available.

ABOUT

Plenty of foster kids age out of the system and end up homeless or incarcerated. They lose their path.

In Hawaii, Ohana means family. The Hawaiians believe that their Ohana is not only their blood relatives but that their entire village is an extension of their family.

The Ohana Project is where people of compassion join forces to offer youth aging out of foster care a chance at success. We aim to help change the statistics for these foster children. We will help get them on the path they need to become successful.

VISION

The Ohana Project intends to change the statistics on youth who are aging out of foster care. We will help teach these youth life skills to help them lead successful lives. Helping them find the resources necessary to assist them. Helping to teach them valuable life skills they might not otherwise learn. Mentoring them how to become a helpful member of society. Helping them further their education.

We will provide these youth with meaningful relationships. People who truly care about them and want to see them succeed in all things life throws at them. We will encourage them to follow through with their permanency plan through Bridges of Ohio.

These foster kids deserve a family just as any other child would have. At The Ohana Project, we hope to be that family for them. Giving them mentors. Someone to talk to. Someone to help guide them through the troubles of life.
